Next, I think I'll conquer health care, world peace . . .

Last night's city council meeting was full of contentious debate and monumental political decisions. It was exhausting.
The good news - I passed my first significant piece of legislation since taking office.
If you live in my city, you are no longer able to place a piece of indoor furniture (ie: couch) on your porch or patio.
Move over Sarah Palin, here I come.

I live in your city - what about on the lawn? Is that ok? I was planning on moving my couch to the grass for comfort. I like to people watch and this would allow me to do it in comfort.

Do you think that you could come and be political in my city and pass a law that toilets and bathtubs DO NOT make great flower pots for the front yard?!

Dear Anonymous, (ie: Katie)

The ordinance actually prohibits indoor furniture from being used outdoors, not just on patios or porches. This ordinance was geared especially toward people like you who do not share my fine decorating sensiblilities. Couches belong inside darling! Pull it next to a window and do your people watching from indoors.

Sincerely,
Your Hardworking Councilwoman
(remember me at the polls in Nov.)

P.S. Jillene, I think that toilets count as indoor furniture, don't you?
