The Joys of Sleeping In

8:45 am -
My eyes open for the first time and look at the clock.
What????
How did I sleep so long?
Why is it so quiet?
Why hasn't Megan come in here to wake me up?
I yell, "Megan!"
8:46 am -
Megan runs into my room.
"Mommy, don't be mad at me. I made a mess. I sorry Mommy."

What I find in her room . . .
I forgot to put the fish food up on the shelf last night.
Great! Just great!

I guess Mona the fish was hungry.
I think I'm gonna sew bells on Megan's pajamas so I can hear when she's up.

  3. Or Plan B - In the evening, premeasure the amount of fish food Mona needs in the morning into a little cup that Megan can dump into the fish tank in each morning as her responsibility.

Or Plan C - Install a Dustbuster within easy reach and encourage frequent audience participation.

Thanks for sharing the daily joys and sorrows, Lisa! I remember the time Matt tried to hang up a picture in his room--he got out his little hammer and some nails, and nailed right into the front of his wooden dresser. :)

  4. I know this feeling all too well. My little one does all sorts of stuff while we're sleeping.

Just remember . . . if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. Oh, and if you insist on saying it anyway, have some guts and sign your name to it. :)
